Tech A Break GoJakarta : Power of Go

ABOUT THE MEETUP:

We're hosting the second annual Tech-A-Break event with Tokopedia and GoJakarta! Our two exciting speakers (and presentations) are designed to get your 2018 development goals started right! This month Tahir Hashmi, VP of Engineering at Tokopedia, will present the "Power of Go" and Kenneth Shaw, the CTO of Brankas will share "Running Go Everywhere."

Presentations will begin promptly at 7:00pm, and will end at roughly 8:30pm. There will be a short question and answer period after each presenter. Doors open at 6:00pm. Please come on time, before 7:00pm!

ABOUT THE TALKS AND SPEAKERS:

Tahir Hashmi, the VP of Engineering at Tokopedia, will share his experience and how he has been able to leverage the Power of Go at Tokopedia. Tahir spent the greater part of the last two decades building large applications working as a Cloud Platform Architect at Flipkart, Zynga, and Yahoo. Additionally, Tahir has deep knowledge and experience with a variety of platforms, APIs, and frameworks gleaned from a variety of hands-on technical roles at firms both large and small.

Kenneth ("Ken") Shaw is the former CTO of Multiply and the Founder / CTO of Brankas. Ken will demonstrate how it is now possible to Run Go Everywhere -- with special emphasis on building WebAssembly (WASM) from Go. Ken has spent the last 15 years building highly scalable payment and transaction systems using a variety of programming languages and frameworks. Ken is the author of a number of popular Go Packages (chromedp, xo, and usql), and has been actively programming in Go since late 2012. Ken previously started (and sold) two different technology companies, and works daily towards building large scaling systems in Go on the cloud.
